As we prepare for Hurricane Milton here are a few updates:

Charlotte County has issued an evacuation order for flood zones A & B which includes the north end of Gasparilla island and the majority of our employees.
Ft. Meyers Beach has also issued a mandatory evacuation for today. We expect Lee County to do the same at the noon briefing.
We are flood proofing as much as possible but with the storm surge forecasted, we will be shutting down all services between 9:00am & 9:30am Tuesday, October 8^th.
The office will be closed until Monday October 14^th. Operational staff will attempt to return to duty on Friday, October 11th if the island is safely accessible.
GIWA requests that all irrigations systems be shut off until after the storm
